Life Purpose

LifePurpose

The dictionary defines purpose as, “the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used, etc.; an intended or desired result; end; aim; goal.”

Most people, at some point in their lives, have asked the question, “What is my purpose?” On the surface, the question seems harmless, but the actuality is more than meets the eye. Purpose gives rise to how we conduct our lives on a daily basis. To know one’s purpose means that we awake each morning with the knowledge that we have a plan for the day. As Christians, each of us have been called to the ministry of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:18 states,

But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself, received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation, that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him.”

This means that each day one of my main objectives should be to touch a life in such a way as to cause that person to come into harmony or relationship with God. Everyday my life should be a walking, talking, acting example of God in the earth. How I do my job should be a reflection of how God would act on a job. How I interact with people on a daily basis should be a reflection of how God would maneuver on this earth if He were to take a human form.

Sometimes life presents us with situations that make it challenging to react and behave in a manner that pleases our heavenly father. It is during those times when we have the greatest opportunity to represent our purpose in this life. God promised that He would be with us always, so when we are faced with challenging circumstances, remember that God will cause us to come out victorious and His word will accomplish everything it set out to do. His purposes, will be done in this earth!
