The Big and Small Ways God Loves Me

Rounded Lillies of the Field

Every day God reminds me of just how much He loves me and how special I am to Him. Recently, I temporarily lost my wedding rings. I had just returned from McDonald’s and was in the kitchen preparing breakfast for myself. I remember taking off my wedding rings because I didn’t want to get food on them. That’s the last I remembered of them.

When I searched for them I could not find them. I checked my purse, I checked the counter-tops in the kitchen, I checked the garbage disposal . . . . . . nothing! I quickly prayed to ask God to help me find my rings. I took everything out of my purse and laid it on the bed . . . still nothing! I decided to go back to the kitchen, sit down, and eat my breakfast and call my husband to tell him of the situation. He asked me had I checked any bags I had. I told him I didn’t have any bags . . . . . then I remembered . . . I went to McDonald’s to get a cup of coffee and asked the rep to give me a bag so that I could put my creamers and sweetener in them. Sure enough I checked the trash can in the kitchen where I had thrown the McDonald’s bag and inside the bag were my wedding rings!

Thank you God for using my husband to tell me where my rings were located. Also thank you for answering my simple prayer to help me find my rings. The lesson I learned that day is this: God is soo concerned about me. His love is everlasting and He is concerned about every facet of my life. If He so clothed the lilies of the field which are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more is He protective and concerned about me?

Thanks Dad!

  1. That is a wonderful example of how God shows His love toward us even with the small things that are dear to us. Thank you for that delightful story!
